Fig Leaf Shakerato

A fun twist on an Italian Shakerato, this frothy iced espresso drink is flavored with fig leaves, bringing notes of toasted coconut and vanilla.

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker OR jar with lid + strainer
  • Coupe glass (or favorite cocktail glass)

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces freshly brewed espresso or very strong coffee
  • 2 teaspoons fig leaf sugar OR fig leaf syrup
  • 6-8 cubes ice

Instructions

  • Prep: Pre-chill a glass by placing it in the freezer for a few minutes. Fill a cocktail shaker or jar with ice.
  • Mix: Pour 2 espresso shots and 1 Tbsp fig leaf sugar/syrup over ice.
  • Shake: Secure lid tightly and shake until well chilled and super frothy, about 30 seconds or so.
  • Strain & serve: Strain mixture into chilled glass and enjoy immediately.

Notes

You can use either Fig Leaf Sugar OR Fig Leaf Syrup to flavor your shakerato. Adjust sweetness to your liking.
Double the recipe if you'd like to serve two people!
